Supervisor MSHA Compliance Assistance ManualFor Surface Metal/Non-metal Mines |
| Michigan Technological University's Michigan Mine Safety Program has prepared a Compliance Assistance Manual to help surface metal/non-metal mining operations meet regulatory requirements easily and quickly. Besides updating the individual sections, a new section (#10) on Electrical Grounding has been added. This manual should be useful to mine managers, supervisors, and trainers. We've tried to make the manual as accurate as possible, but it should not to be considered a substitute for the MSHA Standards in 30CFR. This 500+ page manual is a single-source of information, forms, procedures, and fill-in-the-blank written programs designed for use by small surface mine operators, but it can also used by large operators. One of the manuals most useful features is a list of “Action Items” at the start of each section. These can help the user decide which steps they need to take to comply with the MSHA standards. If you discover any errors while using this manual, we would greatly appreciate you contacting us. Contact Dave Carlson at 906/487-2453 or email dcarlson@mtu.edu. |
